Product Description

The brutality of both public and private experience finds reckoning in these intricate and majestic new poems.Candy Necklace ushers an intense new voice onto the field of American poetry. Lush and turbulent, the poems collected here expose the violence underlying all acts of union and creation, a violence for which poetry might be a redemptive language but in which language itself is always implicated. Cal Bedient explores a wide range of familiar emotional landscapes ― including the constellation of the family, love, and profound lossãand his work is always deeply intimate and verbally original. The brutality of both public and private experience finds reckoning in these intricate and majestic new poems.

predictable; boring; self inflicted verbosity at it's most monstrous . . .. I read this a long time ago. but I remember clearly thinking: my .. this book of 'zgurpoglyphicz' really does "suck the academic &*%$ out of academic NON-IMAGINATIVE &*&^%$."[I would google the author but my poetic license tells me in all likelihood he graduated from a prestigious post prandial writing institution possibly in Aimless Iowahwah and thus i wont waste my time googling nor goggling]. Do not waste your money on this poetic bunk. I keep every book I have ever purchased or has been gifted to me . . . and yet this one I gave to .. . well . . good . . .*&^%&&^ . . . . will. Not worth a penny . .. not even worth a shilling. Possibly, however, worth half a sharks tooth delivered by the toll booth fairy on Xmass eve.
