The most powerful book of poetry I ever read? Brenda Hillman's "Bright Existence." After reading the first poem, I had to put the book down and think. For a full day. When I could pick it up again and read the second poem, I had to put it down again. After this, the book permitted me to read at a faster pace, but damn. Was it just the right book at the right time? You decide: pick up a copy.
